My mom kept everything she’s found in the washing machine the past ten years and made it into an art piece. It’s basically an awesome portrait of what it’s like for two girls growing up in the late 90s/early 2000s.
Check out our recaps, part 1 and part 2, for the new mural festival, Forest for the Trees in Portland. The event brought together 20 international and local artists — including Blaine Fontana, Mary Iverson, Faith47, Curiot, Nosego and more — for a long weekend of painting.
Seems like IKEA are really shaking things up this year. In addition to the previously announced TV set, they’re also going to release a digital camera made of cardboard called Knäppa (“Snap”). It’ll hold 40 photographs at a time and plugs directly into your USB port. While it’s not the prettiest camera the world has ever seen, I do love the idea of a screen-less digital camera that brings people back to the wait-and-see days of film.
I’m buying one.
I NEED THIS
No, guys, this is really important.
This is essentially a disposable camera, made of mostly compostable materials, that is REUSABLE. This is great for beginning photographers or people who can’t necessarily afford a nicer camera. It looks like it runs on AAA batteries, too, and you can always use rechargeable ones.
This is so great, I’m so excited.
I wish the 30,000+ people who’ve been liking and reblogging this non-stop for the past two months realized that my original post is over TWO YEARS OLD. Not only were these cameras never sold to regular people (as far as I can remember), even if they had you’re two years too late to the party.
Apologies to anyone reading this, it’s just that my dashboard (hell) has been full of people excited about this for months on end and I need to vent.
